Join Marc Hachadourian for a presentation of the extraordinary aura and mystery of orchids and gain insight into how to cultivate one of the world’s most prized blooms. In this lecture and Marc’s new book, Orchid Modern: Living and Designing with the World’s Most Elegant Houseplants, he shares practical advice about their natural biology, a few tips and tricks, and details on how anyone can grow and bloom orchids in your home.
Marc Hachadourian is Director of the Nolen Greenhouses for Living Collections and Senior Curator of the Orchid Collection at NYBG. He is a graduate of Cornell University with a degree in Plant Science. With over 25 years of experience in professional horticulture, he specializes in orchids, tropicals, aquatic and alpine plants, and has dedicated himself to increasing public awareness about the importance of global plant conservation and the appreciation of plant biodiversity. Marc’s talk will touch on the ethnobotany and biology of the orchid family.
